Top Ten Book If You’re in The mood For Something New Adult

Hello guys! 🙂 So welcome to march , haha.

I hope you guys are having an amazing day. It’s actually one of those day (To me) where I’m just not feeling crazy about everything. My mood has these weird tendency to fluctuate and today sone of those were I’m extremely sensitive about everything and with everyone around me.  But that’s not going to stop me from having the most productive day I can have.

So in spirit of this day, I’m doing my Top Ten books if you’re in the mood for something new adult.hosted over at The broke and the bookish (shhh, check them out of you haven’t )

I know, new adult? yeah. I’ve heard it all. New adult usually gets the backlash of  pretty much everyone, but to be honest in my opinion is not bad. Sure, there are tons of new adult books that exaggerate and have sexual situations, and okay some of them have awful ways to portrait romantic relationships, but come one, they’re not ALL that bad. In fact I do believe that as dramatic as they can be they can in some cases be a very good representation of new adults living today. We are focused, we are dramatic, we as teens think we’re all that matters and our emotions still consume us. As is the same for adult. And I’ll tell you, some adult books and young adult books have extremely damaging relationships and messages on them. so lets not demonize one gender instead lets love them all.

Okay end rant right now.  Jiji point is not every one likes them and there are some awful ones but there are some awful ones on adult and Young adult books too. The list I made are of the books I think represent the New Adult gender the best. If you’re interested they all have their Goodreads link in them and they are very fun and emotion driven books. so enjoy my little compilation of New adult books you should read.

He doesn’t believe in the kind of fairy tale ending Holly longs for—but he can’t deny that her stubborn optimism has found its way into his heart…

My Review:

I don’t think I have much to say about this book. It’s a cute adult romance. Set in a small town. I felt the story was very rush, I think the author tried to incorporate a lot of external elements and it ended up not working very nicely. I felt as if forcing my self to read and I did find myself skipping lots of pages because there just wasn’t a lot to get my attention.

I liked the characters though, I found Holly to be very well written but Dan wasn’t my favorite he was a massive jerk from page 1 and then suddenly had a change of heart after a while? even then he was a jerk. and believe me I’m all about loving a-hole in books he was just not likable. That’s the thing that made me not enjoy it. There was just no chemistry to me in this book.

On the other hand I loved Ruby and all the old ladies. I loved his brothers and i found Ella’s characters to be… Idk.

Over all it was cute. I wouldn’t really read it again but I did feel there was lot more potential underneath that wasn’t handled properly. Only if the things would have slow down and have each situation have and ending not just rush things to be fixed.

As I always say, Don’t knock it till you try it. You might love it!

And its super cheap.<3

But things aren’t so great at home right now. Desperate for a distraction, Bianca ends up kissing Wesley. And likes it. Eager for escape, she throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with Wesley.

Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out that Wesley isn’t such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she’s falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone.

Review:

No matter where you go or what you do to distract yourself, reality catches up with you eventually.”

To start of I have to say that I picked this book because I pulled it out of my TBR jar which I’m super committed with at the moment, not because i was interested in reading it. I’ve never read anything by the author and I had to idea what the books was really going to be about. I’ve had it on my EReader for more than a year, and it was one of those books that I thought were Over hyped. Seriously Over hyped. Also, there has been so many Mixed reviews about it that I have to confess I was super scared about reading it even when I don’t like to be persuaded by other reviews. Hence why it’s been on my shelve for so long.

Initially I planned to start reading it though-out the whole month. one chapter here , another one there. But when I read the first chapter I was enchanted. I’m not going to lie and say otherwise. I really read this book in one sitting today. And I loved it. The thing that really pulled me in is that this book is super entertaining, From page one we are pulled into Bianca’s world and her perspective on things. Is super fast paced which is in my opinion what makes it so great, because in no moment I felt it dragged or forced in any way (except for one scene with her dad, that it just came out of nowhere but I understand that in order for the story to move forward something needed to happen but still not my favorite). On the contrary, I found the story line and the writing style to flow extremely well.

Can we talk about the characters please? I started the book thinking that I was going to read about some poor girl who is super sad when she hears about being the DUFF, by Wesley no less. but oh no. Bianca was just a breath of fresh air, in her cynical, weird, sarcastic way she deal with it even when it bother her. Even when it hurt and she was far from perfect. She bottle things up, she was judgmental, she didn’t like change so much either. But she was also so real and true to herself that she was the reason I kept on  going.

And Wesley. I felt that even though he was the male protagonist, to me was just like a background character. He was there as a nice fixture , very nice, but I liked that the story didn’t center around him. Okay, I did love him and he was super hot and in his way charming and apart from all that he was the catalysis of the whole book. But he was also loyal and caring. But still the story center a lot more around Bianca than him. Still, I loved him.

The banter between Bianca and Wesley was hilarious. They really got into each-others nerves but there was an undeniable chemistry between them that was very sweet yet sexy.

Your sense of humor needs some work, then,’ Wesley suggested. ‘Most girls find my jokes charming.

Those girls must have IQs low enough to trip over.

And Jessica and Casey were adorable. They are Bianca’s BFF and they were supportive, funny and just adorable. Bianca’s  and Wesley’s parents on the other side suffered from the YA parent syndrome, according to Epic READS, they are the true definition of that; Clueless, absent and hurtful and violent in occasion.

On the story line character grow I found that it was very good. At the beginning the story is light and fluffy but as the story progress and becomes darker and complex the character of Bianca and Wesley become also more complex and more layers are shown. It was excellent on that part. I wasn’t expecting anything of what happened, I truly thought I was going to read another sweet Ya romance novel but this one was very different, it deal A LOT with sex and family drama. It dealed with the decision and coping and taking responsibility for what others do.,

I would totally recommend the book, the movie….I haven’t watch but it looks extremely different from the books. I don’t know why they do that. But really good book!

Wesley Rush doesn’t chase girls, but I’m chasing you.

Have you guys read the book?!

Have a great night guys!

Update: Sick?! Booktube!?

 Hey guys!

🙂

So once again I’ve been sick, but no flu sick. The kind of sick where you have to be admitted into the hospital and you think you’re almost dying and your mom has to fly to another country because things are bad kind of sick. But thank God I’m better and I’m being treated for what has to be million things at the same time

I’ve been diagnosed with a Miss-treated Salmonella case that caused a kidney infection and it also happens that I have Gallbladder stones. Yikes right? . but it’s all good in the hood and im almost back to my old self. I have to that a medical leave of a month from school and work tho and that sucked.

All that time holed up in my room only lead to boredom and something very interesting and exiting. I finally made a Booktube guys! As of right now I only have like 7 subs, 4 of those which are family members ahha, but I’m so happy and exited. It is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while and I did it;  At like 2 in the morning with the Ugly love teaser trailer ahha

Its very hard and intimidating putting yourself out there but im learning the rope and its cool so far. Me having this booktube in no way means I will leave my blog because honestly? I’m better at writing my reviews than speaking about them. I could go on and on about everything im bad at but I’ll stop writing now. The 4th episode of Oulander is waiting for me and JAIME? He can’t wait!

If you guys want to check it out I will put my link here , im sorry that is messy, a lot of ramble and only like 3 videos but it’s cool ahah

Lost All MY BOOKS!?

yes. It happened. All of my Ebooks are gone.

But let me take a few steps back so you can understand. This didn’t happened this week , it actually happened 3 weeks ago but just now I am finally accepting that 233 books are gone from my Ipad, it truly has taken me this long to accept the fact that 2 years of buying books is done. Finito. Acabado. do you know how much money that is? a lot! but whats is worst is knowing that I can’t remember which and all the  books I had on there, and all the quotes I loved and… everything.

This is what happened; I had to update my IOS , so as I always do I plug-in my iPad before bed and hit update. When I woke up everything was new, more colorful and efficient. I was going to buy this book called, Getting Dirty (Don’t Judge me ha) and I opened my Ibooks app, I get this notification saying that I need to log in to something, can’t honestly remember and I click Cancel and suddenly I watched as every.single.one.of.the.Gone. I couldn’t do anything.

After the atrocious moment I tried everything. I logged in, costumer service, email; but they are not even on Icloud. Don’t know what happened but I was pissed then sad and now, I’m trying to slowly remember which books I had and try to buy them back.

Lesson of the story, never trust a digital device. Never click things without reading and buy physical books.

PS: I did wrote the a little bit more dramatically than how it really happened but the feelings where the same haha

Has something like this ever happened to any of you!?
