February BookHaul | 2016

 Hey you guys!

So we only have 10 months left of the year. 0.0 Can we take a moment yo really think about that? This year is setting up to be one of those years where time seems to fly by. Or, because there is always an or in the mix. so, OR Im getting old, my mom always used to say that the older you get the faster the time passes. and I’m 22 an thats unfair. it should slow down.

Anyways, rant about me getting old over. This month I didn’t really get a lot of books, due to me having an awful slump. but I did managed to get some books that I’m excited about even thought I  haven’t read any of them. Yet. I will go into them. soon. promise.

Between the books I got , I recived a copy of Updraft by Errin Stevens and very excited to go into that book, since I’ve never read stories about mermaids. I’m very stocked about it. Also I got the new book by kiera cass and its also about mermaids! is it maybe my body asking for the beach? probably. hehe.  oh and lets not forget about Damon Black ❤

So here are the books I got this month, each have a link to their Goodreads page and also you can add me on there 😉 If you want. (Self promoting much?)

feb bookhaul

Thank you guys for reading this. I really hope I’ll get around to reading them on march. did you guys got books on Feb? if so which ones?

Journey of a 22 year old into 2016?

I’ve yet to put into perspective the things I learned in 2015. It has take me a while, hence this post almost in February. I haven’t taken the time to stop. to stop and remember all the things that at the time where hardship, all the things that made me cry, that made me laugh, that made me love. I have been scared to really take a moment to appreciate them for what they are.
I’ve been scared to get hurt by my decisions and dreams.
Ive been ashamed to feel ashamed for some of the things I’ve done.
It was an interesting year. For sure.
It wasn’t “exciting” in a big way, with the exception of finishing college I can’t say I did great things. I didn’t travel, I didn’t party, I didn’t have multiple heartbreaks, I didn’t finished that book that I wanted,I didn’t enjoyed the beach as much as I could’ve, I didn’t count my blessings, I didn’t… my year was full of I didn’t to be complete honest.
Its a hard moment when you realize that, but I choose to see it for what it is, a good thing. Because as much as I didn’t do much of the things I meant to do last year, it was such a special year for me and I wouldn’t wish away. At all.
2015 was a year of firsts. The year of finally looking into my life and realizing that changes needed to happen. And like people say, sometimes you really need to touch rock to sometimes acknowledge that, it took my own body telling me it couldn’t take it anymore to finally opening these eyes. I envy the people who realize and accept and confront their mistakes. I envy those who never had to suffer before making a change. but, and there is always a but, I’m glad I’m not one of those because I, apparently, am one that likes to experience mistakes first hand.

If there is something I learned in 2015 is that sometimes struggles pay off. On this year I found things in myself that I never knew existed. I got to know and spend time with my thoughts, something I’ve avoided like the plagued since beginning college. but it was time.
Time to face the demons and move forward.
Time to leave the internet and step outside.
Time to say no to that person who came back into my life over and over to pull me down.
Time to open up my self to that other person who saw goodness in me.
Time to realize that friends are fleeting.
To know that family is the most important and that mom is still right ( Painfully so ).
To know that stepping outside your comfort zone is ideal

This may sound extremely idiotic and\or childish to some, but this could’ve been the year I really saw me for who I’ve become. An almost adult who has no clue what the big world is. The lessons and mistakes will be with me forever and I can only hope that the love and pain of this year will move me into this 2016 with power to compensate. To achieve and enjoy and specially to be happy in my own skin.

This thing, life, is a journey; a chapter in the grad scheme of things and that chapter was just that, just one tiny of a chapter that cannot be re-written but was the world setting for a great adventure. And i’ ll make a goddamn fun adventure out of it.

Have any of you experience anything similar? Taken 2016 by the horns and made it point to enjoy it?

Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn’t think she’s the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She’s also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her “Duffy,” she throws her Coke in his face.

But things aren’t so great at home right now. Desperate for a distraction, Bianca ends up kissing Wesley. And likes it. Eager for escape, she throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with Wesley.

Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out that Wesley isn’t such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she’s falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone.

No matter where you go or what you do to distract yourself, reality catches up with you eventually.”

To start of I have to say that I picked this book because I pulled it out of my TBR jar which I’m super committed with at the moment, not because i was interested in reading it. I’ve never read anything by the author and I had to idea what the books was really going to be about. I’ve had it on my EReader for more than a year, and it was one of those books that I thought were Over hyped. Seriously Over hyped. Also, there has been so many Mixed reviews about it that I have to confess I was super scared about reading it even when I don’t like to be persuaded by other reviews. Hence why it’s been on my shelve for so long.

Initially I planned to start reading it though-out the whole month. one chapter here , another one there. But when I read the first chapter I was enchanted. I’m not going to lie and say otherwise. I really read this book in one sitting today. And I loved it. The thing that really pulled me in is that this book is super entertaining, From page one we are pulled into Bianca’s world and her perspective on things. Is super fast paced which is in my opinion what makes it so great, because in no moment I felt it dragged or forced in any way (except for one scene with her dad, that it just came out of nowhere but I understand that in order for the story to move forward something needed to happen but still not my favorite). On the contrary, I found the story line and the writing style to flow extremely well.

Can we talk about the characters please? I started the book thinking that I was going to read about some poor girl who is super sad when she hears about being the DUFF, by Wesley no less. but oh no. Bianca was just a breath of fresh air, in her cynical, weird, sarcastic way she deal with it even when it bother her. Even when it hurt and she was far from perfect. She bottle things up, she was judgmental, she didn’t like change so much either. But she was also so real and true to herself that she was the reason I kept on  going.

And Wesley. I felt that even though he was the male protagonist, to me was just like a background character. He was there as a nice fixture , very nice, but I liked that the story didn’t center around him. Okay, I did love him and he was super hot and in his way charming and apart from all that he was the catalysis of the whole book. But he was also loyal and caring. But still the story center a lot more around Bianca than him. Still, I loved him.

The banter between Bianca and Wesley was hilarious. They really got into each-others nerves but there was an undeniable chemistry between them that was very sweet yet sexy.

Your sense of humor needs some work, then,’ Wesley suggested. ‘Most girls find my jokes charming.

Those girls must have IQs low enough to trip over.

And Jessica and Casey were adorable. They are Bianca’s BFF and they were supportive, funny and just adorable. Bianca’s  and Wesley’s parents on the other side suffered from the YA parent syndrome, according to Epic READS, they are the true definition of that; Clueless, absent and hurtful and violent in occasion.

On the story line character grow I found that it was very good. At the beginning the story is light and fluffy but as the story progress and becomes darker and complex the character of Bianca and Wesley become also more complex and more layers are shown. It was excellent on that part. I wasn’t expecting anything of what happened, I truly thought I was going to read another sweet Ya romance novel but this one was very different, it deal A LOT with sex and family drama. It dealed with the decision and coping and taking responsibility for what others do.,

I would totally recommend the book, the movie….I haven’t watch but it looks extremely different from the books. I don’t know why they do that. But really good book!

Wesley Rush doesn’t chase girls, but I’m chasing you.

Have you guys read the book?!

Have a great night guys!

Tell me below!

Lost All MY BOOKS!?

yes. It happened. All of my Ebooks are gone.

But let me take a few steps back so you can understand. This didn’t happened this week , it actually happened 3 weeks ago but just now I am finally accepting that 233 books are gone from my Ipad, it truly has taken me this long to accept the fact that 2 years of buying books is done. Finito. Acabado. do you know how much money that is? a lot! but whats is worst is knowing that I can’t remember which and all the  books I had on there, and all the quotes I loved and… everything.

This is what happened; I had to update my IOS , so as I always do I plug-in my iPad before bed and hit update. When I woke up everything was new, more colorful and efficient. I was going to buy this book called, Getting Dirty (Don’t Judge me ha) and I opened my Ibooks app, I get this notification saying that I need to log in to something, can’t honestly remember and I click Cancel and suddenly I watched as every.single.one.of.the.Gone. I couldn’t do anything.

After the atrocious moment I tried everything. I logged in, costumer service, email; but they are not even on Icloud. Don’t know what happened but I was pissed then sad and now, I’m trying to slowly remember which books I had and try to buy them back.

Lesson of the story, never trust a digital device. Never click things without reading and buy physical books.

PS: I did wrote the a little bit more dramatically than how it really happened but the feelings where the same haha

Has something like this ever happened to any of you!?

My thoughts

“And when that day comes, it won’t matter so much whether every step was in the right direction because life is not a straight line. It will only matter that you took them. That you never let yourself stand still.”

This is the third book in the Rusk U series , and after waiting so long for it I’m happy to say I really enjoyed it.A lot. All Lined Up and All Broken Down (Click For reviews if you want) where very good and I’ve been so tempted to buy one of the shirts.

So All lined up follows Nell, a girl who had everything mapped out; graduating early, possible masters University. But she knows that she is missing something. Friends.Experience. So she sets out to find what she is missing. Bumping into Mateo Torres, Running back of the Rusk football team and in my words party animal, class clown. Everything she shouldn’t want, but somehow can’t stop herself. These two actually form a beautiful friendship ones Mateo declares himself to be the one to help her with her firsts. All of them *Wink wink*. But he is battling with his own confidence, he knows the way people see him and that’s how he likes it , he loves to be the funny guy. But that is because he doesn’t want anyone to really know him, so he is not prepared for Nell asking for more than just his silly jokes. She gets him although he doesn’t realize it. And It doesn’t help that she reminds him of the person who he blames and wants to prove wrong.

All lined up was enjoyable, I’m not going to say my favorite in the series but a close one. I loved their relationship, I loved Nell too, she was so innocent but at the same time so…Ballsy? ah and Teo! He was just adorable. He was fun , a force of nature really. The story line…Okay, I’m sad to say that after the 4th chapter I thought it was predictable and I was right. It was just some things here and there and I ended up guessing the whole story, that’s not to say it wasn’t enjoyable and fun and surprising because it was it was just the main plot that I guessed what was happening.

So bottom line? Fun summer read, quick and hot. Your cool NA book. 🙂

I would recommend it but start with the other books so you can be more familiar with the secondary characters and don’t get any spoilers.

Review |The Raven Boys By Maggie Stiefvater

Length: 408 Pages

Series: The Raven Cicle #1

Publisher: Scholastic Inc

Published Date: July 30th , 2013

Gender:  Fantacy,Romance, ,ParnormalYoung Adult & Fiction

Rating: ★★★★★ (5 OUT OF 5)

Format: Paperback

The book:

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past.        Blue never sees them–until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks to her.
His name is Gansey, a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.
But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul whose emotions range from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher who notices many things but says very little.
For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She doesn’t believe in true love, and never thought this would be a problem. But as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore

My review:

You know that quote that says “I read to live other lives. Bla bla bla”  the one I think every book worm loves, well, this book to me was the definition of that quote.

If I say I liked this book, I would be Lying. Because like is not a strong enough word for I how feel about this book. I freaking loved it. I’ll be the first to say that The Shiver Trilogy was good and I enjoyed it but The Raven Boys was just phenomenal. From page one I felt like I was transported to this world Maggie Stiefvater created, where old Time lords , and ghost and magic Is possible.

We have blue, a 16 year old girl who lives in a house full of women who are clairvoyants while all she can do is just enhance their strength, she can’t really do anything. Not that it matters since all she wants to do is be “normal”. Living in the little town of Herrieta, were inexplicable things can happen blue has two rules, Never interact with the Aglionby academy boys and Never Fall in love. Did I mention she will kill her true love with a kiss?

“She wasn’t interested in telling other people’s futures. She was interested in going out and finding her own.”

Then we have The Raven Boys, Raven because that’s how the people of Herrieta call all the rich boys who attend Aglionby Academy because of the school symbol. Adam, Noah, Ronan And Gansey, the boys couldn’t be more different but they somehow brought together by the inexplicable force that Gansey is.

“She recognized the strange happiness that came from loving something without knowing why you did, that strange happiness that was sometimes so big that it felt like sadness.”

Oh Gansey *Dreamy Eyes here* . Growing around privilege, is one thing, but Richard Gansey The third is being groomed to be the next leader of his family, although all he wants to do is witness something, something that proves that there is more to what we’re doing here, something Magical. Like magic. He is charming, focused and Loyal to the T, and since moving to Herrieta he enlisted all the other boys as his best friends and adventure companion.

In the end, he was nobody to Adam, he was nobody to Ronan. Adam spit his words back at him and Ronan squandered however many second chances he gave him. Gansey was just a guy with a lot of stuff and a hole inside him that chewed away more of his heart every year.”

By some strange circumstances, like Neeve getting to town, like a weird something in the air, like a whispered name at the graveyard, Blue becomes a part of the little group and together they face moments and adventures that will change their life’s and that is far more difficult and dangerous that they ever bargained for.

“My words are unerring tools of
destruction, and I’ve come unequipped with the ability to disarm them.”

I loved  all of this, I had this book on my shelf for ONE YEAR, and I just picked it up. I had read some reviews about how it was somewhat hard to get into this book but for me was the total opposite. From the prologue I was in all the way. I  do have to admit , there is a lot of world building, a lot of history, a lot of people and a lot of names, and it did take me a little while to finally connect everything in my brain but it was just so beautiful. They way this girl wrote this book was poetic, I’m not trying to sound cheese or anything but it was truly a work of art. I felt like I was the sixth member of their little gang and that is the truest feeling you can get from a book.

Mini Book Review | Maybe Not By Colleen Hoover.

51jdC3EokeL__AA278_PIkin4,BottomRight,-49,22_AA300_SH20_OU01_Tittle: Maybe Not

Author: Colleen Hoover

Length: 129 Pages

Series: Maybe Someday #1.5

Publisher: Atria Books

Published Date:  November 24th , 2014

Gender:  New Adult, Contemporary and  Romance.

Rating: ★★★★★ ( 5 OUT OF 5).

When Warren has the opportunity to live with a female roommate, he instantly agrees. It could be an exciting change.
Or maybe not.
Especially when that roommate is the cold and seemingly calculating Bridgette. Tensions run high and tempers flare as the two can hardly stand to be in the same room together. But Warren has a theory about Bridgette: anyone who can hate with that much passion should also have the capability to love with that much passion. And he wants to be the one to test this theory.
Will Bridgette find it in herself to warm her heart to Warren and finally learn to love?
Maybe not.

My Thougths

“You have to be honest with me, because I think you might be in love with her and I need you to tell me you’re not, because I think I might want to kiss her. And touch her. A lot. Like, everywhere.”

O.M.G. Is it hot in here?

Oh no, it’s just Warren that heat up the air. If you’ve read Maybe Someday ( CLICK! I just posted a review on it last week) You probably already liked Warren.True, he could be kind of a jerk sometimes but the times he was funny or a total sweetheart and considered outnumber those few conversations were you wanted to smack his hear against the wall. In Maybe Not, he just stole my heart. Maybe Not happens at the same time things are happening in Maybe someday and you get to see part of the story form a different angle. It is solemnly from Warrens point of view and man was he complicated character.

The only difference between falling in love and being in love is that your heart already knows how you feel, but your mind is too stubborn to admit it.”

Warren is only living with Ridge and Brennan , his best friends, but when Brennan brings a girl who could or couldn’t be the daughter Satan , she is evil, he doesn’t like her. Until he walks on her in their shared bathroom and then he loves her. He doesn’t understand how Bridgette could be so evil and he still find her interesting and gorgeous – He thinks is all the tan skin. but there are more things happening in Bridgette life and he somehow wants to make things right for her. Only problem is that she is one though cookie-A though cookie he intends to break and eat later.

“She’s nothing I’ve ever wanted in a girl. And absolutely everything I need.”

I loved this book, it was different from Maybe someday, a lot more sexual and explicit but it’s equally as great. I think it made for a perfect companion book and explained A LOT about Bridgette  and I finally ended liking her 🙂

“I need her to admit that there’s an actual heart inside her chest. And that sometimes it beats for me.”

So this is yet another book I would totally suggest you read, you don’t  necessarily need to read Maybe Someday but I would suggest you do, besides is only 129 pages, I read it in about an hour

That was all 🙂 Let me know if have or are reading this book 🙂
