Is it MAY TBR time already!? No way!

I might be one of those people who just thinks the year is going by way to fast, I’m sorry if I am and if I’m constantly repeating that, but man, it is going insanely fast. which means that is TBR time. If you know something about me is that I hate TBRs but I’ve come to the realization that I own too many books and I haven’t touch them so for me to get to them before 2017 I have to speed up the process.

Hello May Little Smilemakers Studio typography Hand lettering blog website blossom mint Maaike Boot

I didn’t make a huge list of books because I need to get my hands on A Court Of Mist And Fury (It comes out today!) and some other books I plan to read. But for now I have a small pile that I want to share, if you follow me on IG you might’ve seen it but if not, here it is!

The Siren By Kiera Cass

My life next door By Huntley Fitzpatrick

The Infinite Sea By Rick Yancey

Cinder By Marissa Meyer| Should you read it?

Goodreads Link this has all the info to the book. Check it out! 🙂

Here it is. Recently , after months and years of seeing this book all over book stores and internet , I decided to pick up Cinder by Marissa Meyer. Through the years I’ve always thought this book was seriously overhyped by everyone who read it, and that (sadly) is the reason why I never read it. Until now.

My brain used to say “EVERYONE is reading this. Don’t be like the rest” and I listened. But this past Sunday morning something happened. While browsing through my amazon prime book thingy (Can’t remember the name really) I stumbled upon this book once again. And my brain NOW said “It’s time” Thank you brain.

Basically this are the reason why everyone should read this book and the things I liked and disliked and what I’m hoping for the rest of The Lunar chronicle series, which I’m very excited for.

  1. If you’re into fantasy, dystopian and cyborgeshingg books you’re in for a treat (I seriously have no idea what category is this placed under to be honest) BECAUSE this is a ix of that and more.
  2. If you like Fairytale re-tellings with awesome twists what are you waiting for? Read it. because this is what this is. A retelling. an awesome one at that.
  3. If you love to pretty much despise the mean guy  (or girls!?) and want to reach into the story and pull the trigger yourself or make a hoover have a crash? This is for you
  4. If you love a prince? Well, Kai is good so far. ahah
  5. If you love awesome and amazing Side-kicks such as Iko. You’ll just love her and your heart will melt Like my does whenever I think of her (Pun untended here *Wink, wink*)
  6. If you love cliffhangers that are not so bad because the next book promises to be amazing? Yup this is the one.

So if you said yes or nodded your head to any of these go ahead and read it and if you have already read it , you might as well read it again. Because…Just because. The thing that I liked the most was how it was so full of action, which I was not expecting. The main characters didn’t make annoying decisions that made me want to bang my head on a wall (except for one that is) in fact Cinder is probably the coolest Thing ever.

I like how all the characters where super funny and sarcastic I also enjoyed that romance was a mayor element of the story but it was not instalove, in fact I’m pretty sure the love is still not there taking a back sit while the main plot was taking place since the begining. ahah.

Waiting on Wednesday| FEYRE AND TAMLIN?

Hey you 🙂

While browsing on Goodreads I found out that A Court of Mist and Fury has a release date! how did I not know this!? HOW? but here I am , because I found out!

Waiting on Wednesday is a book meme hosted by breaking the spines and its amazing! So yeah, the book I’m WAITING impatiently is A court of mist and fury by Sarah J. mass, the second book on the court or thorns and roses – best book ever- and I really can’t wait. I completely enjoyed the first one and hopefully this one will be as great!

MAY 3rd, 2016!

Feyre survived Amarantha’s clutches to return to the Spring Court–but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can’t forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin’s people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms–and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future–and the future of a world cleaved in two.

www Wednesday | Getting off this slump?

 Hey there!

I know I’ve talked a lot about time just passing by lately but guys, It’s Wednesday already. And Wednesday means that I’m doing my WWW wednesday, it is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a world of words and its by far one of my favorites, but before It made me feel kind inadequate because I almost never followed through on my reading plans. but now I’m just chill with that fact. kind of accepted that I am sort of an unpredictable reader.

So with no further due lets get to tackling this questions.

What are you currently reading?

Well, I am reading the same book I’ve been reading since last year and that I’m making myself finish today. Hopefully today. and that book is, All the bright places by Jennifer niven. I can feel the sadness coming to me.

What did you recently finished reading?

Nothing really. slump and all that.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I don’t have a set TBR for march but I’m think I’ll read wither, dumplin’ , Updrift or the siren 🙂

What are you guys reading lately? 🙂 I’m interesting!

and really hope you guys have a blessed day.

February BookHaul | 2016

 Hey you guys!

So we only have 10 months left of the year. 0.0 Can we take a moment yo really think about that? This year is setting up to be one of those years where time seems to fly by. Or, because there is always an or in the mix. so, OR Im getting old, my mom always used to say that the older you get the faster the time passes. and I’m 22 an thats unfair. it should slow down.

Anyways, rant about me getting old over. This month I didn’t really get a lot of books, due to me having an awful slump. but I did managed to get some books that I’m excited about even thought I  haven’t read any of them. Yet. I will go into them. soon. promise.

Between the books I got , I recived a copy of Updraft by Errin Stevens and very excited to go into that book, since I’ve never read stories about mermaids. I’m very stocked about it. Also I got the new book by kiera cass and its also about mermaids! is it maybe my body asking for the beach? probably. hehe.  oh and lets not forget about Damon Black ❤

So here are the books I got this month, each have a link to their Goodreads page and also you can add me on there 😉 If you want. (Self promoting much?)

Book Review: The Promise Of Amazing By Robin Constantine

17844678Tittle: The Promise Of Amazing

Author: Robin Constantine

Length: 371 Pages

Series: N/A

Publisher:   Blazer + Bray

Published Date:  December 31st , 2013

Gender:  Fiction, Romace, Young Adult & Contemporary

Rating: ★★★.75( 3.75 OUT OF 5).

Wren Caswell is average. Ranked in the middle of her class at Sacred Heart, she’s not popular, but not a social misfit. Wren is the quiet, “good” girl who’s always done what she’s supposed to—only now in her junior year, this passive strategy is backfiring. She wants to change, but doesn’t know how.
Grayson Barrett was the king of St. Gabe’s. Star of the lacrosse team, top of his class, on a fast track to a brilliant future—until he was expelled for being a “term paper pimp.” Now Gray is in a downward spiral and needs to change, but doesn’t know how.
One fateful night their paths cross when Wren, working at her family’s Arthurian-themed catering hall, performs the Heimlich on Gray as he chokes on a cocktail weenie, saving his life literally and figuratively. What follows is the complicated, awkward, hilarious, and tender tale of two teens shedding their pasts, figuring out who they are—and falling in love.

My Review:

“I kept thinking of her eyes, the depths of them, the way she looked right into me, and I wasn’t afraid of what she’d find.”

Did I love it? ….ummm not sure.

Did I liked it a lot? Heck yes. ❤

I started with really high hopes with this one, The cover is super cute, the premise is Amazing but when it came to the book per se…. well it wasn’t what I expected (some times). After saving Grayson at a weeding Wren sees something in him that she can’t describe as does Grayson, These two start a friendship of sorts that soon becomes more, but while Wren things she has him figured out it’s not true; Because he is hiding something that can damage not only their relationship but his entire life. It’s a really sweet insta-young love. It’s a very fast paced book, and entertaining, It’s told from two POV (Wren and Grayson) so you get to see the whole thing playing out.

Wren was a great character, she was funny, she felt real and I really liked where she was at that point of her life (Perfect situation for disaster and greatness)  At that age that was me. Quite, applied and had great friends. If it was me in that situation things would have been the same, I mean I still go too crazy over boys, which brings us to Grayson.

Oh Grayson I was expecting so much more from him. He was the typical, hot, rich, problematic but smart guy trying to do good. He knows he’s cute and likable so he thinks he can get away with things, and he often does. But then he gets kicked out of his school for being a Test Pimp and all his future is going down the drain. Meanwhile Wren is working hard to get what she wants (Even if she has no idea what that is). He is trying very hard to just move on and face the reality that sometimes people are not there for you. It;s not only friends and school problems he has but family problems as well, specially with the secrets he’s hiding. I liked him and he has his moments most of the time.

The supporting characters where sunny and each had their own struggles, Even the ones you wanted to hate had something that pulled you in, some little insight as to why they might be like that, except Ava, all but Ava ( I really hate Ava) and that was one of my favorite things, because pretty much everyone has something good in them and Robin Constantine made sure you saw that.

For the most part it was cute and funny and relatable. My problem with it is that it fell too unreal  towards the end that’s the only reason I give a 3.75 (Which is not really a bad thing) It was good, the drama and the development but i just didn’t really agree with how quickly things got fixed,( I mean she forgave him pretty much the next day, and he didn’t even do anything to earn it. ) the rest was perfect, the love story I loved and the things that happen when so mysterious that you just wanted to know what was happening.

“That grin was pulling me into the deep end of the pool. The scary part, the part that made me search desperately for some other task I could lose myself in, was that there was a small, insistent voice urging me to dive right in.”

From Goodreads:

“Hi, I’m the guy who reads your e-mail, and also, I love you . . . “
Beth Fremont and Jennifer Scribner-Snyder know that somebody is monitoring their work e-mail. (Everybody in the newsroom knows. It’s company policy.) But they can’t quite bring themselves to take it seriously. They go on sending each other endless and endlessly hilarious e-mails, discussing every aspect of their personal lives.
Meanwhile, Lincoln O’Neill can’t believe this is his job now- reading other people’s e-mail. When he applied to be “internet security officer,” he pictured himself building firewalls and crushing hackers- not writing up a report every time a sports reporter forwards a dirty joke.
When Lincoln comes across Beth’s and Jennifer’s messages, he knows he should turn them in. But he can’t help being entertained-and captivated-by their stories.
By the time Lincoln realizes he’s falling for Beth, it’s way too late to introduce himself.

What would he say . . . ?

My Review:

I can’t be the only one who can see this been a movie right? It was visually amazing. It reminded me of I Got Mail meets When Harry Met Sally and those are two of my favorite movies. Can you say I loved this book? Don’t just say it, scream it! Shout it!

So attachments? Here we have Lincoln who couldn’t hate his job more if it was possible. He applied for an internet security job at a newspaper and ended up reading people’s emails on a daily basis at night. Talk about dreadful. Until he stumbles with Beth and Jennifer Emails. They are the highlight of his night, He should warn them their emails are being flagged but he doesn’t  ending up liking them. Specially Beth. But when information is given that left him speechless, he knows that his chances with her are now zero because of what he does. Can through email and love at first sight be real? Can they work?

I giggle. I giggle and giggle and giggle and laughed and blushed and was transported back to that time and I loved every minute of it. And Rainbow Rowell has done It again. Every time I read on of her books I end up the same, a giggling girl with red cheeks and wide eyes sitting at her Uni crushing a book to her chest like a crazy person. I am that person.

This book was light and cheery. It was funny and at the same time inspiring but most of all romantic. I mean can we talk about Lincoln? The massive, cute guy? The sweet, nerdy guy? The romantic and loyal guy? He was amazing. How about Beth? The funny, pretty girl?  The movie lover?  The tall girl with the pink pants?  The realistic and loyal friend? She was amazing too.

More than anything the book was real, even through all the romantic stuff. Most people go through that time when we don’t know what we want to be, or how we’ll get there. For some that last more, for other less. For Lincoln it was more. Finding that thing he was meant to do, finding the courage to step up and take what he wanted; took a while, but it felt so right when he did it. That’s what I like about this, the realization that life is not easy, that not all of us have large groups of friends to help us out but that the few we have are amazing, that not all of us have it all figure out, but that at the end of the day we are responsible for our choices and life’s and we should, even if it takes longer, take charge of it. ( At least that’s my take on it )

So after more giggling I’m happy and exited and it was, yet again, AMAZING!

  • “There are moments when you can’t believe something wonderful is happening. And there are moments when your entire consciousness is filled with knowing absolutely that something wonderful is happening.”
  • “I’d know you in the dark,” he said. “From a thousand miles away. There’s nothing you could become that I haven’t already fallen in love with.”
  • I pictured a girl who made every moment, everything she touched, and everyone around her feel lighter and sweeter.
“I pictured you,” he said. “I just didn’t know what you looked like.
“And then, when I did know what you looked like, you looked like the girl who was all those things. You looked like the girl I loved.”
  • “I don’t know if I even believe in that anymore. The right guy. The perfect guy. The one. I’ve lost faith in “the”.
How do you feel about “a” and “an”?
So you’re considering a life without articles?”
  • “Every woman wants a man who’ll fall in love with her soul as well as her body.”
