Sometimes you have to lose yourself to find where you truly belong…

Most girls would kill to spend months traveling around Europe after college graduation with no responsibility, no parents, and no-limit credit cards. Kelsey Summers is no exception. She’s having the time of her life . . . or that’s what she keeps telling herself.

It’s a lonely business trying to find out who you are, especially when you’re afraid you won’t like what you discover. No amount of drinking or dancing can chase away Kelsey’s loneliness, but maybe Jackson Hunt can. After a few chance meetings, he convinces her to take a journey of adventure instead of alcohol. With each new city and experience, Kelsey’s mind becomes a little clearer and her heart a little less hers. Jackson helps her unravel her own dreams and desires. But the more she learns about herself, the more Kelsey realizes how little she knows about Jackson.

My Thoughts

“Life was easier when you stopped caring, when you stopped expecting things to get better.”

The fist Quote tell you what this book is about, and it breaks my heart. I have been pondering this book for the last 2 weeks, not knowing exactly how to express my feelings about this book, so this is my take on it.

I found this book to be so much different from Losing it and Faking it, The writing style was better and to be honest,i thought Kelsey was such a better narrator than Bliss. I was really surprised to see and feel how she felt. I didn’t know or expected this book to be so intense and deep and heavy. I am going to be honest, i didn’t expect Kelsey to be deep in general. In Losing it she was so upbeat that i thought i was going into a happy upbeat book, a change from the others that were thoughtful and cute. This book was not like them. I was suffering (in a good way).

“The best parts of life are the things we can’t plan. And it’s a lot harder to find happiness if you’re only searching in one place. Sometimes, you just have to throw away the map. Admit that you don’t know where you’re going and stop pressuring yourself to figure it out. Besides…a map is a life someone else already lived. It’s more fun to make your own.”

Kelsey has tried her whole life to let things get to her. Parties, beer and hot guys was her life. Until she realizes she needs more than that. But its not that easy. Especially when the person she sees is not who she wants to be and the only way she seems to cope with it is going back to what she knows. Thought out the book we see how  and what Kelsey sees about herself , how she things she is broken and is missing something, closing that whole with recklessness.

“I’ll be good. I promise. Unless you want me to be bad, of course.”

All she wants is to find a place that makes he happy. In Europe, she sees how everything is the same as back home, she thought going there was going to be an eye opener  and magically change her, but it’s not like that and it sends her into a spiral. Different countries, same patterns. Her parents are the same self-absorbed people she left behind , the same who made her stop believing anything really “counts” . Until she meets Hunt “Jackson” , there were sparks, and when they see each other again it turns out to be one of the worst night of her life but he is there to help her even when she doesn’t know. Hunt , Oh oh Jackson  he is a mystery, one that seems dead on being her unofficial companion and forces her to see what he sees. And he counts.

“I’m going to kiss you, princess. But not now, not when you’re telling me to. Not when it’s just something you want to check off a list. I’ll kiss you when it counts.”

She is afraid though, trusting Jackson , loving him, can make it or break her and she knows she shouldn’t expect anything from him because you can’t expect things from anyone.  Mostly because the more time they spend together the more she hurts. Every time  she interacts with him, she realizes how much has she been wasting her life. but he is intent on helping her thought it. But even as they are falling in love she realizes she doesn’t really know anything about him. who is Hunt or Jackson?

Together they embark on this adventure that is set to change their lives forever. But can these two work through the secrets? They have to see if they can become and believe in who they want to be.

“New Life Realization #1:
Being an adult is hard work. I know people tell you this growing up, but it doesn’t really sink in until you’re living it, waist deep in the swamps of no-free-time and not-enough-money.
New Life Realization #2:
It’s worth it.”

I loved this book. Loved the intensity, the romance, the lets down, everything. Kelsey was amazing, even thought she hid her true feelings she was so strong and truthful. I think this book is more about what we can be despite the life we face. With Jackson we see how he has dealt with his demons and is strong and knows there is more. With Kelsey we realize there is more to life than suffering , there is pure, true happiness just waiting for us to find it.

Would i recommend this book? Yes, heck yes. If you like the first two you will like this and if not this can be read as a stand alone. A little bit heavier and realistic and equally amazing.
