In this follow-up to Clipped Wings, the emotional love story continues between Hayden and Tenley; two young people who desperately want to love and be loved but are afraid to completely let go of their pasts.

In the wake of losing Tenley Page, tattooist Hayden Stryker’s tumultuous past is haunting him. Plagued by nightmares about the murder of his parents, Hayden reaches out again to Tenley. Having run from the man she doesn’t believe she deserves, Tenley finally lays her guilt to rest. Despite their intense physical attraction, Hayden and Tenley struggle to repair their fragile emotional connection. As Hayden gets closer to the truth, he must find a way to reconcile his guilt over his parents’ death in order to keep the woman who finally cracked his armor, and found her way into his heart.

My thoughts

“…Bad things happen to people, Hayde. All the time. You have firsthand experience with this. It’s not something we can control, but we choose how to handle it.”

Well, hello again Hayden 😀  hahaha that’s how I would like to say hi to him if he was real.

I’m going to try to make this short, because I’m in class right now and because if i write all my thoughts of this book we would still be here next year. BEWARE.: If you haven’t read Clipped Wings this might contain some major or little spoilers, i’m not sure yet. So if you are easily upset by this, don’t read it, If you are like me and don’t really care, continue please.

“You are still the same person”….”The way you look doesn’t have an impact on who you are”

So after a huge Cliffhanger on Clipped Wings ( you can check out my review of this on HERE), we come back to see how distance has affected Hayden and Tenley, and things are not looking goo for these two. Between Hayden biting everyone’s head off every time they talked to him and Tenley unable to really do much on her house these two made for a depress pair. But man what a call an communication can do to people! Knowing the damage Tenley cause she decides is time to come back home AKA Hayden. But between being scared of his reaction and not wanting to drop in at midnight, she makes a choice that puts her in Sienna’s path, and lets just say this girls get feisty. But is she too late? can the damage she made be repaired? more importantly, can Hayden ever trust her again. When Hayden doesn’t know what else to do. Again he lost someone he loves and is upset because there is nothing he can do about it but when a call lets him know that Tenley is back in town he doesn’t know if he should hug her and kiss the life out of her or proceed with caution , because he now knows how much she can mess up with him.

“Hayden you are everything I could ever want. You are the place I want to be”

These two coming together was the beginning of another relationship. To me it was. They had learned so much of each other in those 3 weeks that they now had to somehow fit it into what they had before, which wasn’t easy. Apart from that we had the looming mystery of Hayden’s parents death. It was exiting and heartbreaking. This Case threw both , Tenley and Hayden into a loop where none of them knew how to act towards each-other. But like my mom says, Love can sometimes work throw anything.

“In this life, for as long as we had, we would be each other’s armor”

I love the fact, that unlike other book series, you knew that at all times the loved each other and that they were strong enough to fix things and if not understand that some things take work and patience. Something i ave to say, Helena Hunting makes up some really annoying  i-want-to-hit-you-in-the-face secondary characters. Since Book one we see officer Cross annoying face , but here we get to see an even uglier and evil side. His words and actions had such an impact in Hayden that it just brought me to tears to see how insecure he could  get him to be; We also get more of the ever whinny and bitchy Sienna, even though in some small part in her own messed up head she thought she was right. Apart from that, the banter between the gang was always fun and light, they had a base support that was amazing and it was great to see how everyone can become a family when the is love in between.

“For me, she would always be the light in my darkness”

The main thing that I got from this books was the lesson that we can’t control what happens to us , but the way we see things are in our reach. It’s going to be hard, it’s going to hurt like hell and it’s going to be sad at times, but when that ray of sunshine peaks at you from out of nowhere, its going to be amazing. We just have to be open and unprepared for it.

I would totaly recomended if you love tattooed guys, cupcakes, mystery, love and HAYDEN! AHAHHA
